Can't Find It?
We'll Find It.

Rare works, specific artists, particular periods — sourced through Provocateur Gallery's global network of private collections, estates, secondary markets, and direct studio relationships. Discreet, dedicated, and inquiry-only.

What We Source

Every Search
Is Different.

Whether you have a specific work in mind or a direction you want to explore, we apply the same methodical approach: deep network access, honest assessments, and no acquisition without verified provenance.

01
Find a Specific Work

You know exactly what you want. We locate it. Works that have left the primary market, are held in private collections, or are available through estate channels — we have the network to surface them.

02
Artist & Period Research

Looking for work by a specific artist, from a particular period, or within a defined aesthetic — we conduct targeted research and present options within your parameters. No noise, no irrelevant suggestions.

03
Authentication & Provenance

Every work we locate is subject to provenance research and, where appropriate, authentication through recognized experts or artist foundations. We will not present a work with unresolved title questions.

04
Acquisition & Shipping

Pricing negotiation, purchase coordination, international shipping, customs documentation, insurance, and white-glove delivery — managed end to end. You receive the work; we handle everything before it arrives.

05
Collection Building

For residential interiors, corporate environments, or investment-focused portfolios — we build curated collections around a brief. Defining the brief, sourcing within it, and presenting with full documentation is part of the engagement.

The Process

Four Stages.
One Point of Contact.

01
Research

We begin with your brief. Artist, period, medium, dimensions, budget. We research market availability, identify likely sources, and provide an honest feasibility assessment before committing to a search.

02
Sourcing

We activate our network: private collectors, estate representatives, secondary market contacts, artist studios, and peer galleries. We present only works that meet your brief — not a volume of near-misses.

03
Authentication

Before any acquisition, we conduct provenance research and coordinate authentication as appropriate to the work. Condition reports, certificates of authenticity, and documentation are assembled and reviewed.

04
Delivery

Purchase negotiation, payment coordination, international logistics, customs clearance, insurance, and installation — handled with the same care as the sourcing itself. The work arrives documented and ready.

Who We Work With

Collectors Who
Know What They Want.

Our sourcing service is for clients who have moved past browsing. You have a specific vision — a work, an artist, a period, a collecting direction — and you need a gallery with the access and judgment to find it. We work by inquiry only. Every engagement starts with a conversation.

No minimum budget is published. We work across a wide range of acquisition values, from edition works by emerging artists to major pieces by globally recognized names. What matters is clarity of brief and seriousness of intent.

Private Collectors

Clients building personal collections who want a gallery's access and expertise without the gallery's retail inventory constraints.

Interior Designers & Architects

Residential and hospitality projects requiring specific works — by scale, palette, period, or artist — sourced, authenticated, and delivered to site.

Corporate Collections

Organizations commissioning or acquiring work for offices, lobbies, and public-facing environments — with full documentation and clear title.

Investment-Focused Buyers

Clients acquiring with appreciation potential in mind, who require rigorous provenance research and market context before acquisition.

Gifts & Estate Planning

Significant acquisitions for gifts, estate collections, or legacy giving — handled with the discretion the context demands.

Handled With Discretion. Client identity, acquisition targets, and budget parameters are held in strict confidence throughout every sourcing engagement. We do not disclose client information to sellers, and we do not discuss ongoing searches with third parties.

Common Questions

What to Expect

Provocateur Gallery's art sourcing service operates on an inquiry-only basis. There are no published rates — fee structures are discussed privately and tailored to the scope of each search. Most arrangements are structured around the acquisition value of the work, with terms agreed before any sourcing effort begins. There are no upfront costs to submit an inquiry.
Timeline varies based on the specificity of the request. Works by well-represented contemporary artists with active secondary markets can often be located within 2–6 weeks. Rare, unique, or historically significant works may require 2–6 months. Estate holdings and private collection works depend on the collector's timeline. We provide honest assessments at the outset and communicate throughout the process.
We do not publish a universal success rate because it would be misleading — the difficulty of any search is highly specific to the work and period. What we commit to is a transparent assessment at intake: if a work is unlikely to surface within a reasonable timeframe or budget, we will tell you directly rather than take on an unfeasible brief.
Yes. For every work we source, we conduct provenance research and coordinate authentication through recognized experts and artist foundations as appropriate to the work. We will not facilitate the acquisition of a work with unresolved provenance questions. Documentation, certificates of authenticity, and condition reports are coordinated as part of the acquisition process.
Yes. Our sourcing network extends well beyond our represented roster. We work across contemporary photography, fine art, modern works, and select historical periods. If you have a specific artist, work, or collecting focus in mind, submit an inquiry and we will provide an honest assessment of what we can locate.
Yes. We offer collection-building services for residential, corporate, and investment-focused clients. We begin with a curatorial brief — your aesthetic parameters, budget range, and objectives — and source and present works aligned with that brief over time. Collection building is a collaborative, ongoing engagement rather than a single transaction.
